'Fiscal Peace' presented/ Rama in Elbasan: Opportunities for reforms

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a conversation with businesses in Elbasan today about 'Fiscal Peace'. This program consists of a series of reforms and fiscal incentives that the Albanian government will undertake with the aim of supporting small businesses and promoting the formalization of the economy.

According to Rama, this package gives businesses the opportunity to close past issues and have a new, fairer and more predictable relationship with the state.

Rama said that the interest in business development is complementary, for both the public and private sectors.

"I strongly believe that if a part of the virtual space were given to work, there would be more optimism. We have complementary interests, you the private one, we the public one. This happens when entrepreneurship is stronger," said Rama.

Rama stated that the change in the taxation system has also had a major impact on business.

"We are aware that there are also things that are not right. At first, we abolished the flat tax. If we had kept it, we would not have today 93% of those who are salaried in the state or private sector paying less than 10% and it hit the smallest ones. That is why we turned it into a progressive one," said Rama./CNA
