Political scientist Ermal Hasimja focused today on the initiative for a broad roundtable with parties that primarily belong to the opposition front and want to unite.

Invited to A2 CNN, Hasimja stated that this is an agreement that will initially need to be maintained by the alliance through a framework of common political ideas, with technical points and details, in such a way that the interested parties can proceed further with their activities.

Hasimja explained that this is a meeting that will serve as a first step, which does not necessarily solve all the opposition's problems. 

"We have no obstacles. Only the element of civil society remains because we want to include not only the parties in the initiative, but also individuals or civil society organizations that have held opposition positions at this moment and who eventually join the principles and the framework that we have proclaimed."

So, once this is done and concluded, then everything is in order and we proceed with the round table. It will be a round table where we will agree in principle on points that we can agree with all parties. If there is a need for another round table or other technical discussions on more specific issues. But the first round table is important. It is not that this solves all the problems of the opposition.

"First of all, it does not solve the internal problems that each of the forces may have, but in the end it is a first step, which gives momentum to continue further. Red lines is a bit harsh a term, but there have been requests. We are doing the main work in front of the table, so the parties will have done the vast majority of the work beforehand," Hasimja said./ CNA
