"Vote freely and without pressure" / The President of the Republic,

The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, voted this morning at the 9-year-old school "Kongresi i Lushnjes", located on "Qemal Stafa" street in the capital.

The President was accompanied by his wife, Armanda Begaj.

After this process, in a brief communication to the media, Begaj also gave his message for the May 11 elections.  

The President said that today should be an election day when voting is free and without pressure.

"This day should be a joyful day, a day of celebration where citizens should freely express their will, without pressure and responsibly so that their voice is heard," said the President.

Regarding the language used by politicians during the election campaign, the president said that such language is unacceptable for politicians and ordinary citizens.

"I found it a calm process. Electoral processes are important for citizens, for the country, for democracy. This day today is of particular importance due to the fact that we have opened negotiations for EU membership. For the first time, the diaspora is voting and the elections must meet the best standards. This day today should be a joyful day, a day of celebration where citizens should freely express their will, without pressure and responsibly so that their voice is heard. The administration and counting process should be the same. I wish you the best. In the election campaign, there should be a confrontation of ideas and programs and in no case bullying language, such language is unacceptable for politicians and ordinary citizens", - said Begaj. /CNA
