Opposition candidate for the Municipality of Tirana, Belind Kelliçi

The candidate of the Opposition for the Municipality of Tirana, Belind Kelliçi, said that parking fees in Tirana are very expensive and unaffordable for the citizens.

Kelliçi stated that he has officially requested information, as a member of parliament who still has his mandate, on why these fees are and where the money collected by the Municipality goes.

" The parking fees in Tirana are very expensive and unaffordable for the citizens.

And especially for the employees, who are often forced to leave the car for the whole day, against the cost of 2,000 lek per hour ", he said.

The DP candidate stated that even the fees charged for parking through phone messages are very high.

But, he added, even though it is said that these payments go to the greening of the city, it is not known what the result is.

" Where is this greenery?", asked Kelliçi, adding that "we are only dealing with a corrupt affair that burdens people".

Kelliçi emphasized that " transparency is necessary and it will be done for millions of euros in taxes that the Municipality collects every year, where a significant part of them is used for salaries and electoral and financial favors"./ CNA
