"Meeting of the year"/ "To Vima": On October 29, Rama, in

Prime Minister Edi Rama and MEP Fredi Beleri will meet soon.

The news is announced by the Greek newspaper "To Vima", which in an article considers it "the meeting of the year", and which is expected to take place on October 29, at 10:00, in Tirana.

The meeting will take place after Beleri is included in the delegation of the European Parliament for the EU Parliamentary Commission for Stabilization-Association with Albania.

The EU delegation, of which Beleri will be a part, will pay a 3-day visit to Albania.

This commission will also be informed by the EU ambassador in Tirana, Silvio Gonzato, regarding developments in Albania's negotiations with the European Union.

The meeting with Prime Minister Edi Rama of the commission, where Beleri will be, is expected to last about 45 minutes.

Part of the agenda of the meetings are also representatives of other parties, as well as a meeting with the Speaker of the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali.

Beleri himself, in an interview for the Greek television SKAI, commented on the opening of Albania's first chapters for negotiations with the EU, saying that "Albania's country is in the EU".

Fredi Beleri also stated that at the Second Albania-EU Intergovernmental Conference, they spoke in clear terms regarding the protection of the Greek minority, which is the policy of the EU".

Fredi Beleri, who was sentenced in Albania to 2 years in prison for buying votes when he ran for mayor of Himara, was released from prison on September 2, 2024. He called his sentence a political decision influenced by Prime Minister Edi Rama. / CNA
