The former deputy of the Democratic Party, Xhemal Gjunkshi, has reacted regarding the decision of the government of Albania to cut off diplomatic relations with Iran.

Through a status on social networks, Gjunkshi says that national security is sublime, so he qualifies the government's decision as the right and most logical one.

According to him, the termination of relations with Iran was the only suitable path, based on the decision-making policies and protocols of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance Security.

"National security is sublime

The decision of the government of Albania to cut off diplomatic relations with Iran, as a result of Iran's aggressive and destabilizing goals towards the national security of our country, is the right and most logical action.

Severing relations with Iran was the only appropriate way, based on the decision-making policies and protocols of the Euro-Atlantic Alliance Security, where Albania is a full member.

The destabilizing projects against Albania are clear evidence of how vitally important the support of the NATO Alliance is for our country. Albania is a friendly country, a close ally of the United States of America and we are always grateful to their commitment and support for maintaining security", writes the former DP deputy. / BA - CNA.al
