The dismissal of Sara Goxhaj from the position of deputy mayor / Anuela Ristani

The delegated Mayor of the Municipality of Tirana, Anuela Ristani, in a statement to the media, spoke about the dismissal of Sara Goxhaj from the position of Deputy Mayor of the Municipality, as well as the dismissal of the Secretary General, Alban Dokushi.

Ristani said that every move was made based on the laws and said that this decision was made by Veliaj.

 

" I feel it is an obligation to each of you, after a series of announcements that have circulated in the media these days, to share today in this press conference a full explanation on how work is continuing in the Municipality of Tirana and how the institution that runs the capital of our country is being managed.

The elected Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in an effort to guarantee the continuity of the work started, as he himself explained yesterday through his status on his social networks, has taken several decisions. These decisions, taken in conditions of truncated information, but also reflected in the media in a hasty manner and never confirmed by the Municipality of Tirana, have created a misunderstanding and have brought unnecessary confusion and concern, which he himself clarified yesterday. There is no functional crisis in the Municipality of Tirana. The work continues with the same dedication, with the same energy and with the same vision that has guided us over the years under the leadership of Mayor Erion Veliaj.

 We will not stop working for the city of the future, for our children, for a Tirana that will make us proud in front of them tomorrow. This is our duty – to the city, to every citizen of Tirana. Also, allow me to share with you a personal message. I have been part of this Municipality and the team led by Mayor Erion Veliaj for 10 years. I have worked every day alongside him, sacrificing time with my family to serve our city. For us, the Municipality of Tirana has always been more than an institution – it has been a shared mission. There is no security measure or media article that can diminish the respect and trust we have built with each other. I firmly believe that the best way to honor the work and dedication of Erion Veliaj is for the Municipality of Tirana to continue to do its best for its citizens. Because in the end, history will remember deeds and not words – the work that is seen and not the rumors that are carried by the wind.

 I would also like to express my gratitude to the Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama, who, in these challenging days, is standing by the staff of the Municipality and the city of Tirana. In conclusion, for any citizen seeking accurate information, all our communication channels remain active.
