This was the question that was addressed this Monday to the President of the Constitutional Court, Holta Zaçaj, regarding the salary increase.

Zaçaj said that their request was addressed to the Parliament and not to the Government for the correction of the salary hierarchy in the justice system.

She stated that the salary of the constitutional judge should be the highest salary of the justice functionary, while she emphasized that in the Constitutional Court the salaries are very close to the First Degree.

"We as judges or as people see news and consume news and are part of the media environment. I want to explain something to you. When the salaries of the courts were increased, the Constitutional Court made a proposal to the parliament, with some changes in our organic law, and we asked that the salary be resold. The salary of the constitutional judge should be the highest salary of the judicial functionary.

We wanted to correct the pay hierarchy in the justice system. Historically they have been the highest paid. The same happens in every country in the world, the judge of the Constitutional Court is the highest paid. Italy has him paid more than the president.

The goal was to restore that principle. We did not determine much and how much our salary will be, but he reviewed and put the principle in place. The government wanted to correct. He found it flawed and brought a law that has not been reconciled with the Constitutional Court. And the numbers that started.

For us, it is important that he remains in the hierarchy as the highest paid judge where he belongs.
