After the meeting of the leadership of the SP, the General Secretary, Damian Gjiknuri, said in a press conference that the party closed an important process for the elections in the party.

"We closed a process that entered the foundation of the reorganization of the SP, to prepare it for the next elections. During the month of June, we conducted a hearing process with all the candidates for president of the SP. A process that was followed by a working group headed by the Organizational Secretary of SP Blendi Klosi.

There was a great interest from SP members to run in this process. There are 561 candidates, who expressed their platforms with full will, almost 30% of them were women and girls, there are over 190 candidates who are around 35 years old. If we look at it, it is an active participation," said Gjiknuri.

He further emphasized that, from the process that ended, an innovation is that 28 SP branches will be headed by women and girls, or women and girls are part of the co-chairing.

"I am satisfied with this revitalizing process, since for the first time we heard candidates who were not selected by the structures, but appeared in front of the membership and revealed their platforms", said Gjiknuri./ CNA.al
