The construction of the photovoltaic park of Karavasta/ Balluku starts:

The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku has announced that the construction of the Karavasta photovoltaic park has started.

During her speech, Belinda Balluku emphasized that this will be the largest park in the Balkans, with 140 megawatts per hour.

Balluku described this as a breather for the energy system.

"It is the largest photovoltaic park in the Balkans with 140 megawatt hours. This day takes on greater importance. The energy we produce covers only 70% of the country's consumption needs. Forecasts for increases in the price of imported energy have been rejected as one megawatt was expected to be 250-260 euros, but it has reached 340 euros. Voltalia is one of the energy production companies that has chosen Albania to invest. The energy produced by this park will be 24.89 euros per megawatt hour. In the middle of 2023, when the park can be in operation, we will receive for 15 years 70 megawatt hours at a price of 24.89 euros. The investment of 100 million euros is starting here to give the energy system a breather," said Minister Balluku./ CNA.al
