The Democratic Party describes the legalization of cannabis in the country as a treacherous project of Edi Rama. According to the Democrats, Edi Rama wants to legalize cannabis in Albania, in the 7th place in the world for production and trafficking of narcotics.

"After destroying the fields, hills and mountains of Albania for 8 years, informalizing the economy and criminalizing society, Edi Rama has another infidelity project ready. Through a draft law, made public recently, he seeks to legalize cannabis. The 7th country in the world for production and trafficking wants to put it in the bag of legalizing narcotics", said Qirici.

 Në një deklaratë për shtyp anëtarja e Kryesisë së PD, Eleina Qirici, u shpreh se “në një raport të Kombeve të Bashkuara për vitin 2022, Shqipëria renditet e shtata në botë për origjinën, nisjen dhe transitin e kanabisit për periudhën 2016-2019. Këtu nuk ka lajm, sepse raporti pasqyron një fakt që Partia Demokratike e thotë, e thekson, e bërtet prej kohësh”.

Ajo thekson se, “Partia Demokratike ndjen keqardhje për murin e turpit ku e varin Shqipërinë raportet ndërkombëtare, siç është edhe ky i fundit. Faji nuk është i raporteve, por i qeverisë në krye të vendit”.

Ajo që duam të theksojmë,- tha Qirici, -është se, kriza nuk zgjidhet duke hapur një krizë tjetër.

 Questioning the work of the Rama government and the seriousness in the fight against trafficking, Qirici said that, "first of all, Rama's Albania is not America nor the Netherlands, with its check and balance institutions. So, there is no certainty that, what is sold as legalization for medical purposes, is not the formalization of drug trafficking.

Second, the regional experience, in the case of North Macedonia, has shown that such an enterprise is a failure.

Third, from the tradition of government partnerships, we suspect that, with the same methods and the same people, we will have nothing more than the next concession of tariffs and monopolization.
