World record/ 5 minutes plenary session, socialists vote "on the run"
Today's plenary session

A world record, today's plenary session lasted only 5 minutes. The socialists voted 6 laws in a hurry, while the hall was covered by the smoke of the lighters and one of the voting devices caught fire. In a few minutes, as never before, the majority approved with 83 votes 6 draft laws, among them the budget in principle. 

In her speech, the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, accused the opposition MPs of not wanting to discuss the draft budget and immediately voted on the agenda.

Prime Minister Edi Rama was also present at today's session, where he participated in the vote together with the socialists he leads. Meanwhile, the Guard had surrounded the chairs of the ministers and the prime minister and did not allow the opposition MPs to approach. 

Voting in the Assembly:

1- Draft law "On some changes in the law no. 61/2012, "On excise duties in the Republic of Albania", as amended", with 73 votes in favor.

4. Draft law "On some additions and changes to the law no. 9920, dated 19.5.2008, "On tax procedures in the Republic of Albania", amended", with 83 votes in favor.

5. Draft law "On some changes in the law no. 9975, dated 28.7.2008, "On national taxes", amended", with 83 votes in favor.

6. Draft law "On some additions to law no. 92/2014, "On value added tax in the Republic of Albania", as amended", 83 votes in favor.

7. Draft law "On the 2024 budget", with 83 votes in favor, all draft laws were approved in principle./ CNA
