'Balluku' case/Rama: Suspension of a minister, brutal intervention by

Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke today before the Socialists at the meeting of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group regarding the case of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.

In his speech, Rama said that decisions to suspend a minister by a judge and prosecutor, in a session without a trial, have never happened in world history and called it a brutal intervention by the judiciary in other powers of the state.

"After 100 or so years, we gave it independence, and that is why I, who have led the party and this majority on the upward path for the independence of the judiciary, never regret it, despite the artificial bombs when they are lit by all kinds of judges, whose taste for independence intoxicates them, darkens their eyes and sends them in directions that violate the independence of other powers, making them violators of freedoms and human rights. Therefore, today, the danger of the foggy crossroads in this regard is not that the legislative or executive violate the independence of the judiciary, but that the judiciary cripples not simply the independence of the other two, but the ability of the other two to function. This has happened in other countries, but this cannot happen in this country because this country that is constantly on the rise does not have the luxury of being restrained, let alone returning to where it was. What is the suspension of a minister from a judge and prosecutor, in a session without a trial, happened in the history of the world?" Rama declared. /CNA
