President Ilir Meta spoke this evening about the debate in the Assembly on the resolution condemning Dick Marty's report.

Meta gave a lecture on politics, as he said that in Albania there is a need for a greater unification of positions, in terms of relations with Kosovo

The Head of State declared on RTK that Albania has a constitutional obligation to prioritize the interests of Kosovo and Albanians.

"I think that in Albania there is a need internally for a greater unification of attitudes regarding relations with Kosovo. There is a need for better unification between the authorities of the two countries. It is a very good achievement to have several joint consulates and joint counters to serve the citizens. We must commit ourselves to strengthen each other's position. I believe that what happened was unnecessary, but also many other cases. Albania has a constitutional obligation to prioritize the interest of Kosovo and Albanians. We must walk on this path, which has been a consolidated tradition in the past, regardless of who the government has been. In our country we have had some problems, those developments in the Parliament and problems with democracy that have delayed the opening of negotiations", he underlined./ BA - CNA.al
