Rama publishes BTI report: Albania first for political transformation in

Prime Minister Edi Rama published this Saturday the report compiled by the Bertelsmann Stiftung Transformation Index (BTI).

Based on the report's data, Albania ranks first in Southeast Europe for political transformation with 7.70 points for the period February 1, 2023-January 31, 2025.

Albania is ranked third, with 7.11 points, after Montenegro and North Macedonia for economic transformation and in first place with 6.71 points for governance.

Since 2006, the Bertelsmann Stiftung Transformation Index (BTI) has been analyzing and evaluating the quality of democracy, economic performance, and governance around the world every two years. The current sample includes 137 countries. Twenty-three OECD countries, including Germany and the United States, are currently not part of the assessment.
