Rama: In today's conditions, we are unintegrable in the EU in terms of food

Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with the Socialist Party parliamentary group, stated that Albania, under current conditions, is unintegratable into the EU due to its failure to meet food security requirements.

Rama emphasized that Albania's main battle for EU integration will be precisely in the food sector.

''At the moment we are talking through the negotiation team, we are negotiating the interim period after the moment of membership to give the country the opportunity to be ready to meet the criteria.

This is not something that is exclusive to us.

This is something of the membership mechanism.

It's something that countries have done before us.

 As we move forward with the cases, we are confident that we will be able to obtain such relief.

The main battle will be in the food sector.

For all the producers in the village.

Under today's conditions, we are unintegratable into the EU due to failure to meet EU food safety criteria.

"We are trying to gain some time to settle down after the merger," Rama said.
