Tourism was one of the topics that Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke about this afternoon at the Assembly of the Socialist Party.

Rama was proud of tourism, mentioning the high flow of visitors who had Korça, Berat and Gjirokastra as destinations.

He stated that 10 years ago these cities were a "bone without meat".

"This year, since the spring, there has not been a week without writing about touristic Albania. This summer, articles or chronicles in the largest foreign media bombarded their audience with tones full of sympathy for Albanian tourism. Korça, Berati, Gjirokastra and other non-coastal cities were there, but tourism was only a meatless bone on their plate. In Korça there was only a hotel and a poor guest house, you couldn't go to Berat, Gjirokastra was in pieces.

The continuous growth in the first decade of our government culminated this year with a tourist boom in Korça, Berat and Gjirokastër. This was also felt in cities far from the coast, where tourism was unimaginable. When I talked about the touristic Tepelena, only Térmeti me Golik, who wanted to gather the polyphonists for a song, believed me. This summer, you could go to the cold water of Tepelena only with reservations, while elsewhere you met people who greeted you in a foreign language," said the head of the government, among other things./ CNA
