The leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, shared a statement today through an audio message to citizens, from his cell.

Meta emphasizes that now is the moment for the opposition to provide a historic solution for the future of Albania, but also for the opposition itself.

Meta declares that Rama abused his power to buy, corrupt and blackmail opposition leaders.

The leader of the PL accuses Rama of having made the plan with the gangs in the 2021 elections and therefore had the result he wanted.

Meta states that the opposition's victory with 84 seats guarantees the full opening of the lists even without Rama.

Victory solves everything!

Therefore, all opposition factors now have only one path, to provide a historic solution to the future of Albania, by permanently subjugating the hostage-takers of democracy, accountability, parliamentarism, the country's European integration, but also the hostage-takers not only of the Socialist Party, but also of the opposition in particular.

To the one who abused his power to buy, corrupt and blackmail opposition leaders and who today sheds 'crocodile tears' for the Democratic Party's primaries, which are like day and night with his personal selections, in the dark as the Head of the Organization with endless anonymous people, most of whom are recommended by well-known gangs.

Likewise, he seeks to divert attention from the final annihilation he is inflicting on the few socialists he had retained until now, as a token gesture.

The one who ran eighth in Durrës in 2021 and had rigged the result with the gangs and his partner in the darkness of May 17, is now the first to be locked in the bunker of closed lists along with the anonymous ones, who tomorrow cannot be held accountable for the loss.

He, whose face even the socialists do not recognize at least ¾ of the ministers, has the problem of the contributions of 2 or 3 democrats not included in the opposition lists.

He who is locked face to face with himself and is terrified of confronting independent journalists is in trouble with democracy.

Therefore, the opposition has a clear path to correct the issue of closed lists once and for all.

It was Edi Rama who deliberately conditioned the closed lists with the 2008 constitutional amendments, precisely to transform the Parliament as it is today, into a 'notary' of his schizophrenic corruption.

"Therefore, the victory of the opposition with 84 mandates guarantees the full opening of the lists even without Rama. The Freedom Party, which has been against the closure of the lists, is also a guarantee for this, as is Berisha himself, but also 40 opposition MPs who will be elected from the open lists," Meta said./CNA
