Rama appoints the prefect of Fier, Arben Čukon, the former deputy who appeared in Avdylaj's wiretapping

Arben Çuko has been appointed prefect of Fier District.

Çuko was presented today for taking over the leadership of Fier Prefecture.

Before that, he was a deputy of the SP in Lushnja and General Director of Prisons.

Arben Çuko has been accused of "corruption" and "abuse of duty" as General Director of Prisons.

He was arrested in October 2018, as part of the "VOL-VO 4" operation.

His imprisonment came after the former SP deputy appeared in the wiretapping of the "Avdylaj" group, part of the famous 339 file.

The wiretapping showed that ?uko had favored a convict in order to transfer him from one prison to another.

It was also alleged that his driver had received a sum of money to ease the conditions of a convict./ CNA
