Protest for the KLA/ Former President Moisiu: Injustice towards the best sons of

Former President Alfred Moisiu was at Skanderbeg Square today for the protest in support of former KLA leaders who are being tried in The Hague.

In his speech, Moisiu emphasized that the imprisonment of former KLA leaders is the greatest injustice done to the best sons of the Albanian nation.

Moisiu said that today's protest is a call to defend national dignity.

"Dear citizens of Tirana, Albania and Kosovo, North Macedonia, Presheva and Montenegro, dear compatriots, today we have gathered here in the heart of Tirana. We have gathered to defend national dignity, to raise our voices against the injustice being done to the best sons of Kosovo and the Albanian nation, the KLA fighters, who fought for the freedom of the homeland.

 In 2022, together with President Rexhep Meidani, Bamir Topi, Pandeli Majko, in the detention rooms to personally meet President Thaçi, with Jakup Krasniqi, Kadri Veseli and Rexhep Selimi, in conversation with these men I understood and saw that those brave men were not afraid, but real men, they remained calm, ready to sacrifice themselves to have the KLA war without the stains that those who do not know Albanians well want to give it. They have done the highest duty that contemporary history knows: the liberation of Kosovo and the protection of its people. I believe that justice will do its duty and will be on the side of the four KLA brothers. They have been imprisoned without evidence, on fabricated charges in dark Serbian-Russian cells.

I want to emphasize that the KLA war was strongly supported by NATO and the USA, and by important Western partners. Leading commanders of the KLA, I would like to say that Albanians are historically known as warriors, but in three cases it is Albanians who have fought for themselves: in the time of Skanderbeg, during World War II and the KLA. Dear friends, it is time not to be silent, but to raise our voices as high as possible to build our country. We cannot accept that the blood of Albanians is trampled. The freedom of Kosovo is not a gift, it was won with blood, sacrifices and determination. I call on justice to show itself to teach everyone a lesson. Glory to the martyrs of the KLA, freedom to the fighters of the KLA”, said Moisiu. /CNA
