Albania, 'champion' of poverty/ Teliti: Consequence of misgovernance

The Advisor for Economic Affairs at the Democratic Party, Dorjan Teliti, reacted today regarding some data published by INSTAT on poverty.

Through a post on social media, Teliti states that the figure of 40.5% for Albanians shows that Albania is the 'champion' of poverty.

Teliti adds that poverty, inequality and lack of hope are not a matter of "fate", but a consequence of misgovernance, lack of vision and abuse of public money.

"According to the latest Instat data, 40.5% of Albanians are at risk of poverty or social exclusion.

In the north of the country, the situation is even more dramatic, as almost half of families cannot afford basic needs. This is not just a statistic, but the bitter reality that is increasingly emptying Albania.

Poverty, inequality, and hopelessness are not a matter of "fate," but a consequence of misgovernance, lack of vision, and abuse of public money.

While some become unjustly enriched, most citizens live in anxiety about bills, food, education, health, and the future of their children.

Albania does not deserve this state of poverty, on the contrary.

"A radical change is needed, a state that works for citizens and not against them is needed," Teliti writes. /CNA
