Education Plan/ Rama: We will increase the average salary of teachers to 1250

Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting today with teachers at the "Besnik Sykja" high school in Tirana. Rama focused on the education plan and specifically on changes to teachers' salaries.

Rama emphasized that the education plan for the coming years aims to increase the average salary of teachers to 1,250 euros.

Rama said that this part of the plan is completely feasible and goes in favor of increasing the desire to go to work and to work.

Regarding the state of schools, Rama said that he believes that we do not have schools like in Europe, but we do have schools like the best schools in Europe.

"Our goal, our ambition and our plan, not ambition, but our plan is that in the coming years within this decade, we will increase the average salary of teachers to 1250 euros. It is doable, it is completely doable, I do not believe that we will have a problem with this, while as the acting mayor of the municipality spoke, as the minister spoke, the rest of the continuous improvement of conditions in schools is still something that goes in favor of increasing the desire to go to work and for it to work.

Otherwise it's just a school with no facilities. A few days ago I was at a construction site in Shkodra, in the middle of Shkodra, the "Ndre Mjeda" school, a school with actually pretty good results, even with good results from students in competitions, and I couldn't believe my eyes.

Neither the eyes nor the nose that brought me that smell of schools that once only brought the smell of humidity, heat, nor forget in a horror, a horror. A school that had not been touched, I believe since the day it was built, who knows when. There are still such realities, but on the other hand, in Tirana, I believe that we can be very proud of the fact that we do not have schools like in Europe, we do have schools like the best schools in Europe, "- said Rama. /CNA
