The Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ilirjan Celibashi, announced that he held a meeting with the General Director of the State Police, regarding preparations for the May 11 elections.

Celibashi writes that this meeting focused on the police's obligations to guarantee a safe and secure election process.

In the post, the chief commissioner wrote that the importance of cooperation between the CEC, the police, SPAK, and the General Prosecutor's Office was emphasized during the election period, in order to prevent any violations.

" Today, at the CEC Albania, we held a meeting with the Director General of the State Police, Mr. Ilir Proda, in the framework of preparations for the upcoming elections. The discussions focused on inter-institutional coordination and the legal obligations of the State Police to guarantee a safe, peaceful and democratic electoral process.

In particular, the importance of cooperation between the CEC, the State Police, SPAK and the General Prosecutor's Office, within the framework of the Coordination Protocol for the electoral period, was emphasized. This cooperation aims to prevent and address any violations that may undermine the integrity of the electoral process.

During the meeting, we discussed in detail:

Implementation of security measures at all stages of the electoral process.

Preventing and punishing electoral crimes, in accordance with the law.

Securing voting and vote counting centers, guaranteeing a peaceful environment for voters and the election administration.

Training police structures on their obligations in the electoral context, with the aim of maximum respect for the law and impartiality.

"The commitment of the institutions responsible for the smooth conduct of the elections remains essential to guarantee a fair and credible process for all citizens.
