The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, held a conversation with journalists today regarding the progress of the preparation of the electoral process. Celibashi said that the preparation of the material base for the last 4 districts is underway and announced that the distribution of electronic voting devices will begin this weekend. The electronic devices will be distributed separately from other electoral materials.
The head of the CEC also spoke about the diaspora voting process, saying that there are 224,628 voters who have received electoral documentation.
Asked about the problems encountered by emigrants in the voting process, Celibashi said that the CEC recognizes as problems those reported by individuals. To this end, he stated that the CEC platform for voter complaints has received 156 reports of complaints, 90 of which are related to the fact that the envelope was left at the entrance of the apartment or in the mailbox.
" We are in the process of preparing the distribution of the material base in the remaining 4 districts. The distribution of electronic devices will begin at the weekend, which will be separate from other materials. As for voting from abroad, the data is already public. There are 224,628 voters who have received electoral documentation.
The number of deliveries on Monday and Tuesday is quite low after the postal service on the weekend has a reduced service. Like any contract, it will be evaluated at the end of the term. When this process is complete, we will see how much and how this service has been fulfilled. Depending on this, we will decide on the fulfillment of our obligation to pay for this service.
It is too early to give judgments and verdicts on how DHL has performed the service. We have noted that everything in our opinion deserves to be discussed with the contractor. We have also received information through social networks. I have also informed the party representatives, there is only one way that forces the CEC to get involved. The problems are individual. We recognize what the individual presents to the CEC, they can enter and report the problems they have encountered. As of the moment we are speaking, there are 156 reports of complaints, 90 reports are related to the envelope being left at the entrance of the apartment or mailbox, 21 complaints that DHL refuses to come and take the envelope back, 9 voters have reported that the ballot paper has not arrived in the documentation, 8 of whom we have resented, and the CEC was informed about one today. 4 have not received a message from DHL about the arrival of the envelopes. "3 voters have not yet received the envelope. 29 voters have reported various problems. We have addressed every concern, even informally. We have communicated with DHL ," Celibashi said./ CNA
