The former elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, spoke after being released on bail from prison.

In an interview with Çim Peka, Beleri made accusations against SPAK.

He raised claims that SPAK is an institution controlled by Prime Minister Edi Rama and gives decisions dictated by the government.

"I don't know SPAK because SPAK is a body controlled 100% by Edi Rama. I made a very big mistake by turning to SPAK and reporting a man. I don't get into the essence of the issue of whether he committed corruption or not, for me he committed this offense not because he took money because Jorgo Goro did not dare to take money from Artan Gaçi and Olta Xhaçka, he may be forced and Jorgo Goro's mistake was who was a loyal party man, was nominated in Himara, never won an election.

For me, Albania's problem, even bigger than the 45-year-old problem of communism, is today's SPAK. It is an extension of politics, politics dictates and they make decisions.

I suffer with all these crime VIPs where no record is proven, no professionalism, they are violations in broad daylight. That's what we want and that's it. The guilty is the one who is proven with evidence and not the one who wants the policy that will remove him from the scene", said Beleri./ CNA
