The chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, presented the 3 proposals of the opposition during his speech in the new parliamentary session.

As he threw accusations at the government, Bardhi said that the Assembly should treat the electoral reform as a priority.

He declared that the minimum pension should be increased to 300 euros, as well as the law on setting the minimum living wage and supporting agriculture.

"I remind you here that it is not only the opposition that raises concerns about crime and corruption, but the reports of our strategic partners, such as the US State Department or the reports of the European Union bodies. It is not only the opposition that raises concerns about the media! It is the prestigious reports of international organizations that speak and raise the alarm about media controlled by the government or about blackmail and pressure on journalists.

It is not only the opposition that raises concerns about poverty and the worsening of the Albanians' lifestyle! It is the International Monetary Fund that emphasizes that 30% of Albanian families are in difficulty to guarantee daily bread. There are international reports which emphasize that more than 35% of Albanian families cannot afford to pay for electricity and water. It is the UNICEF Report that says that 47% of Albanian children are not fed properly. And these are numbers that should disarm us all together. This should be the focus of this Assembly, this should be our daily work, without division, without rhetoric, without propaganda.

Therefore, it should be in the honor of this Assembly to start this new session by giving priority to at least three initiatives proposed by the opposition:

1. Law on determining the minimum living wage;

2. Increasing pensions;

3. Financing of the agricultural sector.

This is where we should focus. This should have been the focus of this Assembly, not clientelism, not the war against the citizens, not their poverty and the enrichment of a handful close to Edi Rama, who have turned the country into a spoil of corruption.

From this pulpit, from this hall, I will guarantee every Albanian citizen that the opposition, the Democratic Party will fight for the Albania of the Albanians, not for the Albania of a handful of rulers. We will fight for Albania where you can live and work with dignity, not for Albania where the law is made by the strongest and where enrichment only comes through corruption.

The flame that Edi Rama has put on Albania will have to end with the vote of the Albanians! We, as the opposition of this country, have the historical obligation to stop the biggest evil that the country has had after the dictatorship. Basically, the regime of Edi Rama does not differ much from that of Enver Hoxha. He built a black and white dictatorship, this one today has built a colored dictatorship, in which people are afraid to speak, there are no free elections, the rule of law is not respected, there is no market economy. We need a great union with Albanians inside and outside of Albania!", declared Bardhi, among other things./ CNA
