The head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted from prison to the death sentence of the former Greek Prime Minister, Kostas Simitis.

Meta said that Simitis was a great personality of Greek politics, not only as the leader of PASOK, but also as a great reformer of the acceleration of the European integration of Greece.

He said that he is grateful to him for the contribution he has made in strengthening the traditional Albanian-Greek relations.

"I learned with sadness about the death of the former Prime Minister of Greece, Kostas Simitis.

Contributor to the overthrow of the junta and consistent fighter against dictatorships, Simitis was a great personality of Greek politics, not only as the leader of PASOK, but also as a great reformer of the acceleration of the European integration of Greece.
