The member of the Municipal Council of Elbasan, Doris Madhi, has denounced the situation with the incinerator in this city.

She pointed out that the incinerator is not working, but there is only a mountain of garbage that keeps coming and increasing.

The Elbasan incinerator has cost the budget 26 million euros to repair and 717 million lek every year, even though it has not been in operation for 3 years.

Madhi underlined that the garbage mountain is an ecological disaster for the citizens of Elbasan.

"This is the tenth time near what is called the incinerator of Elbasan, but we cannot say that it works as such.

Behind me look at a pile of garbage that keeps growing. In fact, it is about a contract, the result of a corrupt agreement, which has cost 26 million euros to the state budget and is now continuously robbing the citizens of Elbasan every year, taking 717 million lek from the budget of the Municipality.

This incinerator, the result of this contract and corrupt affair, has not been working for almost 3 years now. In these 3 years, it has only worked for about 4 months, and not more than that. He represents the true face of this government.

Look behind me, what a catastrophic view there is! It is a pile of garbage that not only represents the government, but above all it represents its will to harm its own citizens.

As you can see, this mountain of waste is nothing but an ecological disaster by the river Shkumbin and it is the next bomb for the citizens of Elbasan", she underlined./ CNA
