"Open list, indicator of support"/ Mano: Parliament cannot be an arena

Andrea Mano, current member of the Albanian parliament and candidate for deputy of the Democratic Party for Sunday's elections, has expressed his belief that the people of Korçë will vote for the right and that the Democratic Party will manage to win not only in this district.

In an interview with CNA TV, Mano stressed that the next parliament must serve the citizens.

"I have tried to provide a different model, which includes the concerns of citizens and the problems they have. Parliament cannot be transformed into a clash arena in every session. The government wanted to turn parliament into a clash arena. A new spirit must be introduced into parliament," said Mano, among other things.

Asked about running on the open list, Mano said that it is a test of appreciation and a place where everyone can prove how much support they have from the electorate.

"At first glance, yes. If it were called a form of evaluation, yes. Realistically, no. If you are going to become an MP, you have to deserve it with votes. I am for an open list so that each of us can show how trustworthy we are. An MP who appears on an open list has an added value because he has the votes of the citizens," declared Mano.
