New Law on Inspections/ Government approves reorganization of 14 institutions

The government today approved the decision on the new inspection law, an important part of which is the reorganization of 14 institutions in the country.

Among the institutions that will be reorganized are: the National Food Authority, the Health Inspectorate, the Labor Inspectorate, the National Environmental Agency, the Medicines Agency, the Cultural Heritage Inspectorate, and others.

DECISION ON THE DETERMINATION OF THE INSTITUTIONS THAT ARE REORGANIZED ACCORDING TO THE LAW ON INSPECTION IN THE REPUBLIC OF ALBANIA.

In support of Article 100 of the Constitution and point 3, Article 3, of Law No. 99/2024, “On Inspection in the Republic of Albania”, upon the proposal of the Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, the Council of Ministers

DECIDED:
1. The institutions with inspection functions in the jurisdiction of the executive branch of the central government, in the field of implementation of Law No. 99/2024, “On Inspection in the Republic of Albania”, which are subject to the reorganization process, are as follows:
a) National Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices;
b) National Environmental Agency;
c) National Forest Agency;
ç) National Agency for Protected Areas;
d) National Veterinary and Plant Protection Authority;
dh) National Food Authority;
e) General Directorate of Archives;
ë) Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture Services;
f) National Inspectorate for Territory Protection;
g) National Inspectorate for Cultural Heritage Protection;
gj) State Health Inspectorate;
h) State Inspectorate for Labor and Social Services;
i) State Inspectorate of Market Surveillance;
j) Institute of Public Health.

2. The inspection functions of the National Agency for Pre-University Education and the National Coastal Agency are transferred to the new central inspectorates, which will be established according to the inspection areas covered by the responsible ministries and according to the principles of Law No. 99/2024, “On Inspection in the Republic of Albania”.

3. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Ministry of Education and Sports, the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Tourism and Environment and the institutions specified in points 1 and 2 are responsible for the monitoring and implementation of this decision.
