Former MP Belind Kelliçi commented on today's developments in the Assembly, where there were moments of tension that degenerated into violence.

Kelliçi said on Eni Vasili's show that these tensions are the result of the behavior of the majority, while he threw accusations at Speaker Lindita Nikolla.

He stated that Nikolla is behaving as the spokesperson of the government, appointing the head of the DP group, or taking the attributes of the opposition.

"This is a consequence that has a cause as a consequence of three weeks of violence against the opposition MPs. In an unprecedented case, the establishment of three investigative commissions requested in the last three weeks was denied, but a total of 8 requests for commissions were made. For the first time, the Assembly takes on the attributes of the opposition.

The President of the Assembly appoints who is the head of the Democratic Party group and she appoints who is a member of the Electoral Reform Commission. No one wants these images, but the moment you see permanent violence against the opposition you will see such images.

Lindita Nikolla is no longer the speaker of the Assembly, but the spokesperson of the government. It is destructive to deny the opposition the right to an investigative commission. If you allow the session, you are a facade opposition. The opposition has a say there and the moment their right is denied, there will certainly be such reactions. Lindita Nikolla was a functionary of the Socialist Party and not as the Speaker of the Parliament of Albania. This opposition was voted to be there. "In 90% of the plenary sessions, you don't see the prime minister coming", emphasized Kelliçi./ CNA
