"It was unfair"/ Emirjana Sako talks about the incinerators, recalls

The Mayor of Durrës, Emirjana Sako, has spoken about the issue of incinerators and the Investigative Commission that Parliament set up in 2022.

Sako recalled the debates held in the Commission of Inquiry about the incinerators, when she was called about the garbage in Porto Romano.

The mayor of Durrës said in Prime Minister Edi Rama's podcast that the debate was unfair and that in those days not a single drop of blood would come out even if you pierced it.

"Before answering this question, I wanted to make a reflection of what I have felt at least in these three years about being a part of politics. In general, even from the young people who are expected maybe some kind of aggressiveness to become equal to the medium that is in Albania, to be a politician you have to debate, you have to be angry all the time and so on and so forth. I was the opposite of this because I have this education and this nature. In general, I am focused on work and relationships with people. She is the most important to me, but when I was in the Investigative Commission we had some kind of clash with the commission group and actually, I was... if you pricked me, I wouldn't have a drop of blood in that debate that we had there because I it seemed unfair.

It seemed necessary because I was in an election campaign. So, it looked like a mise-en-scène just like that. Meanwhile, people were thanking me, telling me well for my behavior, for my attitude, for the confrontation I had made, and I couldn't believe my eyes that what had happened there seemed to me a negative thing, while people were looking for this apparently and I think this should change because politics is not only done through this strong and often barren debate, but it is done through facts, attitudes, through work, and so on, as it is done in any other profession", she emphasized.
