The deputies of the Democratic party have reacted strongly after the statement of the head of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, regarding Territorial Reform.

Dhurata Çupi said that such a stance when the commission's work had not yet been completed, was a clear undermining of this process.

Çupi added that this reform should not be seen as an opportunity to win the elections at the table and added that there should be a review of the territorial map taking into account the proposals made by the Democratic Party.

"The installation in front of the prime minister's office costs 4 million euros while you cry for the cost that a revised map could bring."

Balla's statement to the media:

We in the SP parliamentary group have received information from the group of experts we hired. The experts we hired, after considering all the proposals so far, have suggested that among the incoming proposals, for reducing or increasing the number, they should not be taken into account and that the current map is the right one.

In this context, the experts' conclusion is that we should stick to this territorial division. Our position is that the division with 65 municipalities and 12 counties is the best possible.
