The trial for Thaci and the leaders of KLA/Rama: They are held as war criminals

Prime Minister Edi Rama has stated that the leaders of the KLA are being unjustly imprisoned behind bars at the Hague court after being accused of being war criminals.

This accusation, Rama says, is beyond any kind of imagination in relation to international law, given that the former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army fought against ethnic cleansing.

"There is something hugely wrong with this process. Without wanting to prejudge the aspect related to the justice and independence of Kosovo, I remain amazed in the most negative sense by the fact that the leaders and commander of a popular liberation movement not of an organized army but a rebellion against a brutal regime that intended to ethnically cleansed Albanians in Kosovo are accused together as war criminals. The man whom the current president of the USA, Joe Biden himself, baptized as the 'George Washington' of Kosovo has been behind bars for a long time, locked up without charge, which is beyond any imagination in relation to international law," he said.
