"Witch hunt"/ Berisha: What sent the opposition to pieces
The head of the DP, Sali Berisha

"Witch hunt", this is how the leader of the DP, Sali Berisha, described the process for the disintegration of the opposition, in a conversation with the citizens through his social network "Facebook".

Berisha mentioned a number of factors that have influenced the weakening of the opposition.

According to him, this process started when "the ambassador of the friendliest and biggest country in the world demonstrated with a megaphone in front of the Parliament against the opposition".

He claims that the process continued with the hiring of the former FBI official, Charles McGonigal, the violations in the April 25 elections, his sanctioning and the lobbying of the US ambassador in Tirana.

"The process of destroying the opposition did not start with the announcement of Sali Berisha's 'non-grata'. This process started when the ambassador of the friendliest country, the largest country in the world, demonstrated with a megaphone in front of the Parliament against the opposition. This process continued with the hiring of McGonigal at a time when he was in office. His contracting by Rama to do the 'witch hunt' against the Albanian opposition. This continued with the violations in the April 25 elections that Edi Rama had to be in power at all costs.

This process continued with the sanctioning of Berisha without any evidence or document. The lobbying of the US ambassador in Tirana in the diplomatic missions, her statements against the movement to save the Albanian opposition, the brutal interventions in the court proceedings for the party's name and logo. All these were not motives that I could give up, on the contrary, they were motives that I should stay in the name of the Albanian opposition", emphasized Berisha./ CNA.al
