Today, the 23rd protest took place in front of the Tirana Municipality, where the revolted citizens demanded the resignation of Erion Veliaj and his placement in justice for the corrupt affairs that have taken place in this institution. 

Citizens called Veliaj a master thief who must account to SPAK for the corrupt affair of the incinerators and the "5D" file. 

Today's protest lasted 45 minutes and was peaceful. Numerous police forces had surrounded the town hall building. 

In his speech, Belind Kelliçi, the political leader of the DP for Tirana, said that a thief, Erion Veliaj, is hiding in this institution. 

He denounced that today the neighborhoods of Tirana are overflowing with garbage, while the Municipality of Tirana pays 24 million euros per year for cleaning the city. 

Kelliçi said that this protest will continue next Thursday against the thief Erion Veliaj. 

He warned the mayor that his days are numbered and he will face justice. 

Erion Veliaj was questioned by SPAK about the incinerator affair, while the court issued other security measures a few weeks ago. 

Meanwhile, the investigations about the incinerators continue, the first group has gone to SPAK, there are two more groups. Initially, they were accused of corruption, but now the accused of the structured criminal group for an affair of around 130 million euros, for an incinerator that does not exist, weighs on the persons involved.

Tensions and clashes with the police have not been absent in recent protests, as protesters have tried to enter the town hall building./CNA
