World Teachers' Day/ Zhupa: This day finds them in a difficult reality

Democratic Party MP Ina Zhupa has shared a message on social media for World Teachers' Day, saying that this day finds Albanian teachers in a difficult reality.

Zhupa writes that the financial situation of teachers is poor and their salaries do not match the responsibilities they carry.

Zhupa further states that political pressure and unfair interventions violate the professional dignity of teachers.

"On this October 5th, World Teachers' Day, I want to bow with respect and gratitude to all teachers in Albania. Despite the difficulties, they continue to shape generations with dedication, patience and idealism."

Unfortunately, this important day finds teachers in a difficult reality:

Their financial situation is poor, their salary does not match the responsibility they bear and the costs of living increase every day.

The heavy burden of overtime work, which is often unpaid, such as completing documentation at the SMIP, maintaining constant contact with parents, preparing endless plans and analyses, etc., have turned the role of the teacher into an extraordinary administrative burden.

Lack of suitable conditions for quality teaching where classrooms are overcrowded, infrastructure is outdated, and basic teaching tools are lacking.

Lack of regular and quality free training from the state, which would help them continuously improve their teaching methods.

Political pressure and unfair interventions, which violate the professional dignity and independence of teachers, instead of creating a healthy environment for quality education.

These are not simply teachers' problems, these are wounds of the education system that directly affect the quality of our children's education and the future of the country.

As a member of parliament, I am committed to ensuring that the voices of teachers are heard more strongly in the Assembly, so that their problems are not overlooked, but treated with priority.

"Respect for teachers is the foundation of any developed society. Without valued teachers, there is no quality education. Without quality education, there is no future ," Zhupa writes.
