On Wednesday morning, the lawyer of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Sokol Mêngjesi, was raped in the area of ??the former Block in Tirana.

In relation to this event, in the Laws Commission, deputy Asllan Dogjani said that the perpetrators should be held accountable and that violence is punishable. 

He said that crime is not afraid of the law. 

"A serious incident happened a few minutes ago in the Block, since we are in the law commission. It has to do with a lawyer who was hit in the middle of the block, in the middle of the day, with a crowbar. He is a lecturer since we also have students from The Faculty of Law. He is also Sali Berisha's lawyer. This event shows that whoever is in the middle of the capital shows that crime is not afraid of the law, we do not have the rule of law what can they do to ordinary citizens. The perpetrators must be brought to justice. I condemn the violence, we must condemn it together," said Dogjani.  

There was also a statement from Klotilda Bushka, after she said: "We all stand in solidarity as colleagues and oppose any act of violence against lawyers. We call on the authorities to investigate and bring the perpetrators to justice." 

It is reported that Morning was hit with a crowbar by 3 unidentified people.

The event happened around 08:50 on Wednesday morning. The police have confiscated the security cameras of the road where the incident happened. 

The morning is receiving medical help at the hospital, while the police are investigating the motives of the event and the arrest of the perpetrators./ CNA
