SP deputy, heading for arrest?!

This Thursday morning, the resignation of the deputy of the Socialist Party, Jurgis Çyrbja, was announced.

His resignation came immediately after appearing in the Special Prosecutor's Office and being interrogated for about 5 hours.

This move of his, just two days after going to SPAK, raises hints that the SP deputy will be arrested.

He is facing justice after the report of the deputy Edi Paloka in 2021. The latter accuses Çyrbja of abusing his duties while he was the director of the Durrës Mortgage.

According to Paloka, the socialist has signed two practices for the same property, in two different names, within the same day, thereby realizing property overlapping.

Çyrbja stated two days ago that he had not been charged, but refused to talk about the charges brought against him and the questioning.

As for the resignation, the socialist claimed that health reasons were the reason, but he is a person under investigation.

Two days ago, he was informed of the charges and the investigations being carried out against him, so this is also the real reason why he resigned.

At the end of the investigations, Çyrbja is expected to go to court for all the criminal offenses he is accused of.

Seeing the circumstances that he could be punished, he resigned as a deputy of the SP, this was allegedly requested by Prime Minister Edi Rama. / CNA
