DENUNCIATION for the reconstruction of the National Museum: Without a tower, the

The member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party, Grigels Muçollari, reacted today from the blue seat to the closure of the National Historical Museum.

He stated that everything is being done in secret and this can be connected to two things: either the firm of the stepsister 'Casanova Hernandez', which restored the facade of the Museum, will take over the rest of a multimillion project, or the Museum will be demolished for give way to a complex of towers.

He emphasizes that this reconstruction project will also be accompanied by a tower.

"Like Rama and Veliaj, they both have CVs full of objects with towers. Stadium with a tower, theater with a tower, why not a museum with a tower. Without a tower, the bazaar is not closed. They find a lot of excuses. Earthquake, humidity, old age , decay, and others," he says.

Muçollari underlined that PD demands immediate clarification from the authorities that decided the closure and why there is a lack of transparency in this process.

"Decisions, secret and family, to intervene in the architectural and urban landscape of the capital, according to the model of fap-e-fap firms, is an insult to the citizens of the capital, to the taxpayers, to the Albanians. The closing of the Museum is not a project in the public interest , but surely Rama's plan of the icons and his two political stalwarts to change Tirana according to the appetite and to satiate the monetary appetite at the expense of public spaces and expenses", he says.

The National Historical Museum will be closed for 4 years. The most important cultural institution and one of the main destinations for a tourist visiting Tirana will close its doors from March 15 to March 15, 2028.

Full statement:

The National Historical Museum will be closed for a period of four years. The government has decided to lock the largest museum in the country, and it does so by locking the information for citizens, which it has an obligation to do. What is the project, why is the museum closed, how much will it cost, who conceived it, who does it, who finances it, why? and so on.

To date there is no official communication regarding this.

This secrecy is related to two things: either the stepmother's firm 'Casanova Hernandez' that restored the facade of the Museum will take over the rest of a multimillion project, or the Museum will be demolished to make way for a complex of towers.

Don't be surprised if, as with the National Theater, soon, with the same model, you see a tower with businesses for party friends on the first floor, a museum on the second floor, and residences and offices on the other floors.

Both Rama and Veliaj have a CV full of towering objects. Stadium with a tower, theater with a tower, why not a museum with a tower. Without a tower, the bazaar is not closed. They find a lot of pretexts. Earthquake, humidity, old age, decay, etc.

Don't forget a new element: the Rama-Veliaj kleptocrat duo is joined by an 'old hand' of towers and dams, a trained klept, Blendi Gonxhja, as Minister of Culture and Finance.

With these three, the non-transparent closure of the largest museum in the country can be nothing more than an extortion project, with or without a tower, it doesn't matter.

The Democratic Party demands publicly and for the sake of the public interest:

1) Immediate clarification from the authorities that decided the closure: On what expertise and with what consultancy was it done?

2) Engaging the attention of public opinion and encouraging actors concerned about cultural and museum heritage to come alive and act within their role together with civil society organizations!

3) in the absence of transparency, the immediate initiation of investigations by the responsible bodies.

Placing the National Museum of Albanians at the disposal of the Prime Minister's stepdaughter's company for four years is a public mockery of the citizens.

We remind you that 13 million euros were paid for the restoration of the front of the Museum alone and, like many other projects in the field of construction and architecture, it went to the studio 'Casanova Hernandez' and the local partner 'I RI', both firms associated with the prime minister's daughter.

The National Museum is public property, in its role as an institution or as a building. The treatment of the prime minister's family as a private entity proves the degradation of the state in the hands of those who only have in their eyes the gains of power and its privileges.

Decisions, secret and family, to intervene in the architectural and urban landscape of the capital, according to the model of fap-e-fap firms, is an insult to the citizens of the capital, to taxpayers, to Albanians. The closing of the Museum is not a project in the public interest, but certainly a plan of Rama of the icons and his two political henchmen to change Tirana according to their appetite and to satiate their monetary appetite at the expense of public spaces and expenses.

There is only one way to remove their hand from the pocket of citizens and the extortion of public assets: overthrow! Today, never! /CNA
