Manja gives the news: New prison in Pogradec for convicted women
Ulsi Manja

The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, after a meeting with women convicted in the IEVP on 'Ali Demi' street, gave the news that soon there will be a new prison for women and girls convicted in Pogradec.

"I gave the same congratulations to the women and girls who are suffering in the temporary sentence at the IEPP 'Ali Demi'. I told them there too that I came to this institution when I became a minister and I had promised them that we will do our best for living standards. Because the law itself offers them a special treatment when they are serving their sentence. This institution does not offer the best conditions. We are having talks about the future of this institution. They have been punished by justice for the crimes they have committed and they want to return to their families. Pata an opportunity and I used it to clarify them about the Amnesty law. I don't want to fall into the trap of numbers because they can change depending on the approval of the law in parliament. Some women benefit completely. Those who benefit the most from sitting in punishment. By the end of the year, the number of women who are released due to reduction are more than those who fully benefit from Amnesty. This institution offers conditions for the treatment of women not in the right parameters. The conditions are not uninhabitable, nor very difficult. These are optimal conditions, but not what they should be. The possibility of moving from this institution is being considered. Relocation to Pogradec was discussed. The furnishing is nearing completion there, the interior furnishing will be finished by March. Meets all standards of treatment of all convicted women and girls. But it will be done after the Amnesty", said Manja./CNA
