Balla in Greece: Call to compatriots to withdraw ballots at post offices

The Political Leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, stopped in Northern Greece to closely observe the procedure for withdrawing voting envelopes from compatriots at DHL post offices and other subcontractors.

As Balla was leaving the DHL post office, he met two Albanians living in the North, who had just received the envelope and voted without any problems.

Balla encourages all compatriots not to just wait for notifications, but to contact the postal company and present themselves at the relevant points. 

"I want to urge all compatriots that, while waiting for their envelope to arrive, as is the duty of the DHL postal company, it is good to contact the company and do as Ladi and Merita did, to appear at the company, at the postal point where they have it, whether it is DHL or one of the subcontractor companies. The offices are open, you appear there, you get the envelope with your name on it," said Balla. 

To facilitate the process, DHL has made a phone number available and, in many cases, like in Veria, notification also comes via SMS or email. 

"So, take the envelope, fill out the ballot, hand it in right there. For all those compatriots who want to be informed about where the postal point is where they can pick up their ballot, there is a phone number made available by DHL, where they can call to get information. How did you find it? Or here in the North is it simple even via email?" Balla said. /CNA
