The head of the SP Parliamentary Group has supported the resolution of the European Parliament, which prohibits state officials from using the "TikTok" application.

Balla says that Albania has also approved a Resolution on foreign interference in national democratic processes in December 2019.

In order to guarantee security, he wants to set up a Special Commission in the Parliament of Albania to collect information on the financing of political parties and actors from financial sources linked to countries unfriendly to Albania.

The head of the SP group means that Albania should also apply the ban on the 'TikTok' application to administration officials.

The European Parliament approved two days ago a report that focused on measures against foreign interference in the member states of the European Union through disinformation, cyber attacks and disruption of critical infrastructure.

As part of the recommendations in this report, all member states are asked to align their approach with the restrictions that the European Union, as well as the US, have already imposed on the ban on the use of the social media application TikTok.

The report is part of the work of the European Parliament's Special Committee on Foreign Interference in Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation, which was launched in 2020 in an effort to stop states like Russia and China from influencing European politics. .

The Assembly of Albania has also approved a Resolution on foreign interference in national democratic processes in December 2019. It is the right time, perhaps overdue, to set up a Special Commission of the Assembly of Albania on Foreign Interference in Democratic Processes, aiming to convene of information on cases made public or others on financing of parties and political actors from financial sources connected to countries unfriendly to Albania. As in the case of the European Parliament, the object of this Commission's work should also be the disinformation campaigns, which, as in EU countries, are maliciously financed by Russia or any other country.
