Prime Minister Edi Rama has described Albania's membership in the EU as revenge.

He says it's revenge for the humiliations inflicted on Albanians over the past hundred years. Rama said that Albania has opened the chapters the fastest.

 

" Albania cannot miss this moment. Believe me, it is a key moment in our history. We must be there, we must be ready, as we have been until now. Two other letters came to us at the end of January, at the beginning of February, to open two more groups of chapters, so in fact we have opened the chapters faster than all other countries comparatively, because we are making a very strong contribution to this work in order to achieve this.
