Prime Minister Edi Rama, in a meeting with socialist assemblies in the capital, also spoke about corruption. A few hours after SPAK landed at UBT for tender affairs, Rama said that this is one of the categories most affected by corruption. However, Rama said, according to the EU, our country is first in the region for the integrity of tenders with 80 points.

"The European Union does not give gifts and does not do politics in this process, but only makes calculations. Then comes politics. When you have done your duties and it does not suit them because they have some other problems, they say no, how did you do well, and leave you there to wait, like they left us for three years to surpass the candidate in the negotiations, but politics that says "it's okay that you did not do this, but we need you and we will bring you closer", this does not exist. It does not exist. If it existed, they would have brought Ukraine closer.

"Ukraine is not closer than us. Why are we closer? Because we have done our homework and do you know why today there is more talk about corruption than before? Not because there is more corruption, but because it is proven, studied, analyzed, written, that when a country and a society are strongly engaged in the fight against corruption, two things happen before this phase is overcome. First, the perception of corruption increases because there is more talk about corruption and second, the results, the objectives that are achieved are covered by a lot of noise and a lot of gossip, which is what we live in today, and I am not saying these. They are studied, written, analyzed. Now, if there is corruption, where is there corruption? Is there corruption in the competitions for funds, tenders or not? It is one of the areas most affected by corruption, because it is about the distribution of money," said Rama .

 

 

Rama also said that we are closer to the EU because bureaucracy in the country has decreased.

" Today - we are not saying this, the European Union is saying it, through its own structure, which deals with factual analysis, not with newspapers and portals and channels, - Albania is first in the classification of the integrity of public procurement in the region and it is by a margin. We are 80 points, the second place is 71 points, 71 points, which is Montenegro, which is with us, closer to the door of membership. Then come others. We are first in public procurement.
