Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has again denied having knowledge of the involvement of the head of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta in the CEZ-DIA affair, while saying that no negotiations were ever carried out on behalf of the government he led.
He emphasized that he was not aware that Meta had negotiated with CEZ.
"I was not aware. CEZ did not announce the actions as it had no legal obligation. I am not aware of it and I am not even today, and this is my position. I am not aware that Meta has negotiated with CEZ. As far as I know, this matter has been investigated several times. I am not even aware of Meta's involvement. As far as I know, one person is in jail for this matter, the one who ran it, a woman is under investigation. I have not had and I do not know. There were no negotiations on behalf of the government. We were in the alliance during that mandate, but we took this case to court," said Berisha. /CNA.
