The case of the expulsion of 23 opposition MPs is also included in the European Commission's Report on Albania.
The European Commission considers it unprecedented and encourages a more constructive political dialogue between the opposition and the majority.
"Disagreements between the majority and the opposition, especially for the refusal of the prime minister to participate in most of the interpellations requested by the opposition, caused a temporary interruption in the normal functioning of the Assembly. The Ethics Secretariat imposed several disciplinary measures, resulting in the unprecedented expulsion of 23 opposition MPs within a month. Higher ethical standards are needed in the works of the Assembly to encourage a more constructive political dialogue between the opposition and the majority", states the European Commission Report for 2023./ CNA
