Deputy Agron Shehaj declared yesterday evening that he is no longer part of the Democratic Party and that he withdrew as he no longer sees any alternative.

Former prime minister Sali Berisha was asked about Shehaj's statement a little while ago, who said in a statement to journalists that he respects the deputy's decision.

He shared the last conversation he had with Shehaj regarding the latter's departure from the right.

"Deputy Agron Shehu is a deputy like every other deputy has his judgment and in this aspect I respect the opinion of every deputy. I have spoken, I have told him that I respect his decision. I told him in a more friendly way that you have undeniable contributions and your contributions do not take more weight elsewhere than here", said the chief democrat.

Berisha was also asked if he is afraid of the opening of a new party by Agron Shehaj.

"The man who does not fear others is not afraid himself. There will be developments", replied the former prime minister./ CNA
