The EC stands by the PD/ "The opposition's right to Investigative

The European Commission has also paid attention to the rejection of the Investigative Commissions by the majority, which has recently caused chaos in the works of the Assembly.

The report of the European Commission states that the opposition's right to Investigative Commissions is guaranteed by the Constitution.

The rejection of the majority with the argument that it will change the law on Investigative Commissions, according to the EC, does not last as long as the existing law is in force.

"During the reporting period, the opposition requested the establishment of two investigative commissions, but the majority rejected both requests, despite the fact that the opposition's right to initiate such commissions is guaranteed by the Constitution. The majority's argument in both cases was that a review of the law on commissions of inquiry is under consideration. The current law, however, remains in force", states the European Commission Report for 2023./ CNA
