The draft budget of 2024 has become a bone of contention among socialists. Deputy Erion Braçe "clashed" with the Minister of Economy, Ervin Mete.

Braçe asked for an account of pensions, after he said that the people who retired in 1993 and 2015 are hit by the reforms and have no growth.

"In 1993, all pensions that were linked to money remain at those levels, while those that were linked afterwards increased. The same happened with 2015, who connects after this year are much higher than those before 2015. When we have retirees hit by these two reforms who have had their minds on the future, has the time come to see a solution beyond indexation? How much is the pension indexation and bonus bill in the coming year?", he said.

On the other hand, Mete admitted that it is time for the government to make a reforming intervention in pensions.

"Pensions, the moment has come for a reforming intervention. We have started the discussion with the World Bank and the IMF, which are conducting preliminary analyses. The issue of pensions is a sensitive issue and requires an approach that amortizes the differences in contributions and beneficiaries. Indexing to change is also being discussed. In 2024, there are 4 billion ALL for pension indexation. 3.6 billion ALL has been budgeted for the year-end bonus.

Isn't it more right to help this priority sector with more budget?", he said.

Also for this case, the Minister of Economy emphasized that he will make a revision and intervention in the budget.

"I believe that the support for agriculture should be reviewed to see their effectiveness. I think that the support measures for agriculture should be reviewed, and the form of support should be reviewed, in relation to the products, with the quality so that this sector receives the necessary support.
